Hmm.. there are alot of things happening recently and ironically, a certain portion of my life has little or no events happening.. sigh.. There is alot to be said man.. dunno to start from where..O.K. I shall talk about something that has a great deal telling me about my character. The REIG - Real Estate Investment GameThroughout the whole game, I was the accountant, the calculator. Haha.. I wasn't complaining and I won't.. As much as I want to make decisions on what there is to invest and what our group should invest, I never step up. Or even if i did, i was pushed down. (but i was glad if they did..) I know that I am not a risk taker. Given the game, its a stimulated game to begin with, so very much exaggerated yet real. Thus, normal logical thinking wouldn't work here. Any market speculation will be be accurate cos we are only speculating the thoughts of the lecturer to be honest. I am more of a person who only take calculated risk. I will only do investment when i am fully aware of the tools i have at hand, the calculated risk i am facing, the rewards i am expecting as such. I will never go to war unprepared, thats my motto in life. Thus in this case, I can only be the calculator. Hahaha..However, I am really amazed at shit's courage and also, his accurate prediction of the market trend. He is a total risk taker, which I can never be. I feel that such excitements in life is something that I can never get a feel of until the game. Its definitely a nice experience. And then again "I am not worried at that moment can.."Throughout the game, never did the term "grades" "CA marks" "20%" came across my mind. Something surprising.. And yet, the idea behind it is to win. To be the big winner.. Generally, I was very happy with how my team works in the whole game. Everyone has a role to play. Good team work. But however the sad part is that there are other groups which fare better than ours. Even so, I am proud of my group.. hahaha.. cos wenjie and chris had successfully challenged our fears.. my fears.. and i learnt something new...Go for it and never be afraid!

Me and shit are not the risk takers you make us our to be. We calculated our treshold points. We set up boundaries and we have a strategy. This is calculated risks. And I dare say,our model would would fine in the REAL world. The investor has a say when to redraw his funds, not at the whim of the lecturer who closes the market at 19. At 10, we are the richest when we let go at $125. But decisions made aft tt was not wise.
we were too preoccupied with the use of leverage. We learnt the powerful impact it had on us pre-peroid 10 but fell into the trap it laid for us. We should have used our equity profit made from the earlier investing to purchase units on full equity and hold and profit from the rent. The rent is an impressive 9+ %, yet we choose to loan and hold cash. Stupid move actually, but it slipped our minds.
But I do agree REIG is a interesting game but it is too simplified and controlled. Biased even. Therefore we would find it hard to learn real life lessons. I am in the process of bringing in a unbiased shares and options game. This one would teach us more skills in playing the stock market ba. Need 10 players to be fun. Any takers?
yea.. i agree.. we should have use our profits to finance the units instead of loaning.. however, i believed that even if it never slipped off our minds.. our balance equity will not reach 2K either.. so i am really interested to find out how did that grp invest, as i believe among all.. our grp transacted the most number of units.
I dun mind playing the game.. but i am still new to investment stuffs.. hahaha.. so you must tell me all the rules and how to play the game.. =)
